Housing association Karbon Homes is celebrating the success of its new apprenticeship programme says ChronicleLive.
In October 2019, Karbon welcomed 11 new apprentices to the organisation, providing learning and development opportunities in teams including property services, housing management and central services, such as customer relations, finance and communications.
One new apprentice gives their thoughts on the apprentiship:
“For a number of years before starting my apprenticeship, I was economically inactive due to the fact I was a full-time carer for my father who was terminally unwell.”
“When I saw the apprenticeship roles with Karbon I was keen to apply. I have spent most of my career working in banks and fancied a new challenge.”
“I was really impressed that Karbon was keeping the opportunities exclusively for its customers and I knew that being a bit older wouldn’t be an issue as they made it clear the positions were open to all ages.”
