Checking continuity of a ring final circuit with unintentional spurs

This diagram provides guidance for checking the continuity and polarity of ring final circuit conductors with unintentional spurs for compliance with Regulation 612.2.2.

This should be viewed as a continuation of the post: Checking continuity of a ring final circuit with no spur.

1. Ensure installation, or appropriate part of it, is securely isolated, and proved to be so, before proceeding.
2. Measurement to be taken at each and every socket outlet.
3. Measured values should be the same at each point, including at the Consumer’s unit.
